Exercise
Take an atlas and choose an island or a land at the sea.
Trace with a pencil on a large sheet of white paper the coastline with full attention.
Feel how your eyes follow the line in the atlas
Feel your hand following the line of the eyes
The pencil follows the movement of your hand
and draws a track.
This track is like the original drawing
and yet: a track.
A participant:
“Regularly, during my morningwalks I follow a bird flying in the sky. Sometimes it’s a bird already flying which are caught in their flight by my eyes. Another time I follow a blackbird which, at first running over the pavement, spreads his wings and flies half a meter above the pavement ahead of me, often twittering. From the moment that I catch a bird with my eyes flying in the sky and I keep following him, I am fully aware of my feet, stepping forward, one by one.”
